Frequently asked questions

Spring, Summer & Fall Seasons

Trash Pickup

Pickup is on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month (time & weather permitting)

Restricted Items that will not be picked up

Building materials of any nature

Plants - including trees & shrubs

Solvents and hazardous materials

Tires & Batteries

Refrigerators and/or Freezers

Air Conditioners

Large furniture items - including mattress/box springs, couches, etc.

Carpet and/or padding

Brush Pickup

Please limit vegetation & brush to small quantities because the borough does not have the manpower for large amounts. If the items are in excess, they will NOT be picked up.  Please hire a contractor for situations exceeding acceptable restrictions.  Thank you for your cooperation. 

Vegetation materials will be picked up on Mondays between April 1st and September 30th (weather & time permitting)

Grass, Leaves, Trimmings, & etc. Must be placed in trash bags, not tied and not exceeding 30 pounds. Place bag at the rear of  your property, closest to the alley.

Tree Limbs, Hedges, Bushes & etc.,  Must be cut into pieces no more than 4-6 feet long

Winter Season 

Do not shovel snow onto the street and/or alley this may create a hazardous condition.

Move your vehicles (if possible) to have the snow removed from your on-street parking area.

Note that streets are cleaned before alleys.
